Vegan Chik’n Teriyaki Pizza

This vegan chik’n teriyaki pizza is topped with teriyaki tossed seitan that is scarily meat like and totally satisfying!

Try not to eat the whole thing in one sitting. Seriously. It’s THAT good.

We haven’t created a pizza dough we love yet so for this recipe use your favorite vegan pizza dough recipe or grab a premade crust.

The seitan is also something we recommend having in the freezer. We will usually make a double or triple batch and freeze it right after boiling or after baking, depending on what we want to use it for.

You can see our Basic Seitan Recipe here.

You can add different seasonings to make it specifically pork, chicken or beef flavored.

For this recipe, add a tablespoon of poultry seasoning to add the chicken taste.

HOW DO YOU MAKE VEGAN CHIK’N TERIYAKI PIZZA?

If you’ve got the dough and seitan made, it’s fast and easy.

If you need to make those things, don’t worry. You’ll get faster and learn to have some on hand to make this pizza or anything else that calls for dough or seitan super easily.

First things first-

The crust!

Grab your favorite pizza dough and roll it out onto a well floured surface. Make one big pizza or a couple small ones.

Move it carefully to a well oiled pizza pan. We like to roll the sides up all the way around for that full pizza effect.

Bake the crust for 6 minutes at 350 degrees to firm it up before you put the toppings on. Please don’t skip this step! If you do, the pizza will be soggy.

If you’re using a premade crust I’m not sure about the time for this- you might not have to do it at all.

Spood your favorite teriyaki sauce onto the baked crust. Spread it around in a thin-ish layer.

I love so much sauce. My husband does not! Do what suits you.

Toss your seitan in your favorite teriyaki sauce.

Layer your toppings of choice and seitan.

Sprinkle as much of your favorite vegan cheese (we use Daiya or Earth Island) as you want.

Bake the fully made pizza for 10 minutes at 450 degrees.

Then set the oven to broil and SET A TIMER for 2-3 minutes.

Watch it like a hawk! Seriously. There’s a fine line here between the best ‘za you’ve ever had and crying over burnt pizza.
